Memory Angel
‘The Memory Angel’ a ceramic sculpture commissioned by RDaSH, Rotherham, Doncaster, and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust and REMA.
The Piece was established after numerous creative consultations with service users from Woodlands, a purpose-built unit for adults who need acute care for functional and organic mental health problems.
A six-week ceramic workshop programme was devised and patients actively participated and contributed to the work.
The slab-built Memory Angel comprised of imprinted detail, words, quotes, and photographs. A remembrance tribute to the patient’s angels.
The work was part of the REMA’s Festival of Angel event and was displayed in Rotherham Minster over the festive period.
In addition to this commission, Angie also worked on a whole school project with Swallownest school, delivered different techniques to suit the children’s abilities they created a ceramic feathered halo that also went on exhibition at the Minster and Riverside Library.
