Fancy a Brew, SYHA 2019

Angie was commissioned by South Yorkshire Housing Association to work with residents from a new housing estate, Slingsby Place. The concept of the project was to involved residents in a creative consultation process, giving them a voice and platform to communicate. The outreach work took place within the estate and engaged participants in art and ceramic workshops, learning new techniques and forging relationships The mugs represent a symbol that evokes conversation. Resident’s personal thoughts and feelings on the theme of ‘Home’ influence the narrative and imagery reflected in the surface. Inspiration was also taken from the neighboring pictorial meadows and green estate.
