The Tap: Love is Louder, 2018
The Tap was commissioned by REMA (Rotherham Ethnic Minority Association) as part of the Love is Louder program. The award-winning project had a remit to engage all aspects of the community, to bring people together, to share and celebrate cultural diversity in Rotherham.
The tap was inspired by the migrant workers that took up residency in Rotherham from the late 1960 to work in the steel industry, mills and mines amongst other jobs in the local area.
Angie work with a group of elderly Men and Women from Yemen, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kashmir and India. This community shared their stories of joy and hardships, how their families and friendships grew, from the past and on into the future. Their experiences were reflected in the surface of the tap.
